Scheduling a field team: capacity, routes and safe driving time (GB)
For schedulers, dispatchers, service coordinators and field supervisors who plan several technicians' days at once. Complete 'Dispatch and scheduling fundamentals' and 'Planning your day and route' first: they cover prioritising jobs and a single technician ordering their own day. This course covers the next level: working out how much job time each technician really has, allocating jobs across a team by time window, skill and area, checking plans against GB drivers' hours and working time rules, planning journeys the way HSE guidance describes, and using plan-versus-actual data to improve estimates. Legal examples are for Great Britain (GOV.UK and HSE); which drivers' hours rules apply depends on the vehicle and the work, so confirm with your transport or compliance lead. Northern Ireland and other countries have their own rules. This is not legal advice. Buffers, standard job times and targets in the examples are illustrations; your organisation sets its own.
