Fixing the cause: failed parts, repeat faults and five whys

A new part fitted without knowing why the old one failed often fails the same way. This course covers telling the failed part from the cause, reading the failed part for evidence, spotting repeat failures in the history, using the five whys with its known limits, and closing the loop with countermeasures, repair-or-replace information and failed-part returns. Examples are fictional; the manufacturer's instructions and your procedures govern.
