Awareness for everyone who works at loading docks or among racking: keeping trailers from moving (drive-away, creep and restraints), dock leveler and dockboard basics, keeping people clear of loading areas, recognizing and reporting racking damage, load notices and safe storage. US and UK rules are given as examples; follow your site's procedures and local rules.

  • Explain drive-away and vehicle creep, and the controls that stop a trailer moving during loading
  • Check a loading position against the site checklist and stop when a control is missing
  • Recognize racking damage, missing parts and missing load notices, and report them immediately
