Vendor evaluation scorecards: criteria, weighting, scoring and moderation
For purchasing coordinators, office and operations managers, finance staff and anyone asked to sit on a supplier selection panel. Prerequisite: 'Comparing costs and evaluating vendors', which covers total cost and missing information in quotes. This course goes further: writing evaluation criteria and pass/fail requirements, weighting them, scoring quality and price on a scorecard, choosing methods that separate bids, justifying scores against descriptors, moderating to a consensus and writing the evaluation summary. Examples draw on UK public procurement guidance (Procurement Act 2023) and the US Federal Acquisition Regulation as good practice. Public bodies must follow their own procurement law, and private companies their own procurement policy; this course is not legal advice.
