Site survey checklist for a small office install
For field and MSP technicians who visit a small office (roughly one comms cabinet, a firewall, a switch and a few access points) before an install. No prerequisites; 'Wi-Fi site surveys for office projects' covers the RF survey itself. Covers what to gather before the visit, the equipment location (space, electrical working clearance, power, cooling, UPS), the network details (ISP handoff, cable routes, AP mounting and PoE, outbound firewall access), hazards you might meet on the survey, and a report that separates facts from assumptions. Vendor examples are Cisco Meraki; safety and building examples cite US (OSHA, EPA) and UK (HSE) guidance. This is awareness training: it does not qualify you to identify asbestos, carry out electrical work or design to code, and it is not legal advice. Your company's survey form and the site's rules apply on the job.
