Risk registers that drive action
For project managers, operations managers and team leads who keep or contribute to a risk register and want it to change what people do, not just sit in a folder. No prior risk training is needed; basic spreadsheet arithmetic helps. You'll write risks as cause, event and consequence, score them with likelihood and impact and compare the score with your thresholds, choose a response and turn it into an owned, dated action with an early-warning indicator, and run a review that updates the register honestly. It draws on HM Treasury's Orange Book (UK government risk management principles) and NIST SP 800-30 (US guidance on risk assessment). The scoring scales here are an example: your company's risk policy sets the real ones.
