Writing customer case notes after a call: facts, commitments and personal data
For account managers, account executives, customer success managers and sales development reps who write notes in a CRM after calls and meetings with customers. No prerequisites; 'CRM hygiene, follow-up and handoff to delivery' is a useful companion. You'll write notes that separate facts from opinion, record exactly what was promised and by whom, leave out personal data the note doesn't need, write with the expectation that the customer may one day read it, and correct mistakes properly. It's based on the UK Information Commissioner's Office guidance on the UK GDPR's accuracy, data minimisation and storage limitation principles, special category data and subject access; similar principles apply in many other countries, but check your company's policy. This course isn't legal advice and doesn't make you a data protection specialist; your company's CRM standards and data protection team come first.
