Active listening on calls and in meetings
For anyone who takes phone or video calls or joins meetings at work, with no prerequisites. It covers open questions and follow-up prompts, showing you're listening when people can't see you, checking understanding with a summary and teach-back, inviting questions, and taking notes that record what was said without opinions or unnecessary personal data. The techniques are adapted from published guidance for government user researchers (GOV.UK Service Manual) and for healthcare staff (AHRQ's Health Literacy Universal Precautions Toolkit). Customer-facing staff may also want 'Active listening and clarifying questions', which applies listening to service complaints.
