Access control commissioning: test plans, pre-acceptance testing and turnover
For access control and low-voltage technicians, lead installers, project engineers and the customer's security representatives who plan or witness system tests. Complete 'Access control: readers, locks, REX and door hardware' first; it covers commissioning a single door against the door schedule. This course works at system level: writing test procedures with expected results, preparing a test credential set, testing line supervision, communications loss, power failure and tamper, running pre-acceptance testing with a failure record and burn-in, and assembling the final test report and turnover package. It's built on the US Department of Defense's public Unified Facilities Criteria for electronic security systems (UFC 4-021-02, 2025) and its example test procedures; your contract, specification and the manufacturer's documentation decide the details. Fire alarm interfaces and egress are life-safety matters: test them only with the fire alarm contractor and the people your project names, under the code your authority having jurisdiction has adopted.
