Acceptance testing and customer sign-off: criteria, defects and a record that stands up
For project engineers, lead technicians, project managers and service coordinators who plan acceptance tests, run them with customers and prepare sign-off paperwork, and for customer-side staff who sign. Complete 'Customer handover and sign-off' first; it covers the end-of-job handover conversation. This course covers the formal part: writing acceptance criteria that can actually be checked, separating verification ('built right') from validation ('the right thing'), classifying defects and choosing acceptance, conditional acceptance or rejection, and correcting a sign-off record so it says what was tested, what's outstanding and who signed with authority. It uses public guidance as worked examples: the NASA Systems Engineering Handbook, the US Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 46 for government contracts, the GOV.UK Service Manual and the Department of Defense's UFC 4-021-02. Your contract and your company's templates decide the real terms. This course is not legal advice or contract advice.
